Presumably the steering wheel is straight ahead as you are driving straight down the road. The reason I ask is that most vehicles nowadays read steering angle and compare to wheel speed and yaw sensors.

Rain should not have had any bearing on the situation. I have had limited success in disconnecting the battery, then reconnecting, then driving the vehicle in a large parking lot while turning the wheels from lock to lock in a figure 8 pattern. After two complete figure 8’s, it may have recalibrated itself.

As far as having it serviced at other than a Mercedes dealer - Not many private shops carry the factory diagnostic tools required by Mercedes. From my experience, Mercedes will give you very little standardized data via the OBD2 spec. You are probably stuck taking it to a Merc dealer or a truck shop that services Merc trucks.
