Two different circuits required here. One from the alternator to charge while engine is running, and the other is from the converter to charge from shore or generator. If you just have a converter, make sure it's connected. Mine (albeit old) is plugged into a wall receptacle for its 120 volts. Without knowing your system, you may have a circuit breaker specifically for the converter as well.
