What would happen if when I opened the door and hit the “store” switch? Wouldn’t that do the same thing?

On my Hurricane, the steps are powered by the chassis battery, so Store switch has no effect.
I assume that is for safety. To insure steps deploy anytime the door is opened... and retract when ignition is on (unless door is open).
