It looks like it is not the factory original sealing. Is it possible that someone fixed a developing problem? If so then maybe the only part that needed fixing was the middle of the seam. This wouldn’t be unusual. I check my roof 3 or 4 times a year and more times than not have to address some issue. Usually I only address the suspect spot and won’t re-seal an entire seam. So it’ll only be a problem if the not beige parts near the side shows cracks or any other way for water to penetrate.
