Banging Stove Top

Good Evening,
I need some suggestions to solve a (hopefully) simple problem that is driving me nuts.

I have what I believe is the standard issue 3 burner stove. (Photo 1).

When traveling over bumpy roads, the top comes loose and then makes a loud clanging every time I hit a bump!

The top is designed to be removed for cleaning/servicing and I don't know how to make it more secure. Photo 2 shows the rear clips that hold the top down.

I'd be willing to caulk it down but have no idea what material would be appropriate to handle the heat from the stove.

Thank you for your ideas/suggestions and solutions!
