That’s the nature of inverter generators. These are more efficient at idle or 50% load, so a real improvement since generators rarely operate at 100% capacity. The other advantage is some reduction in noise, although it looks far from what we’d expect from a Honda or other top brand.

As expected, greatest advantage of inverter generator in fuel savings is at light load. At full load there is no fuel consumption advantage.
