We had a 41 foot DP that had four big, not full wall, slides. The two front slides were hydraulic, the two in the rear were electric. This was prior to Schwintec. We were told, never run the slides out, unless you are level and jacks are down. We followed that for thirteen years, never had any problem with any of the slides. Seems like all the newer coaches have really gone to lighter mechanisms, gears, motors and tracks, which all seem to be prone to failure, especially on the full wall slides. Our Gemini had two Schwintec slides, small and light, and though we did not have any significant problems with them, I was not impressed with how light and seemingly flimsy the motors and tracks were. They always seemed to struggle going in or out, but again we did not experience anything in the way of a major failure with them.
