The top is designed to be removed for cleaning/servicing and I don't know how to make it more secure. Photo 2 shows the rear clips that hold the top down.
I'd be willing to caulk it down but have no idea what material would be appropriate to handle the heat from the stove.

There are 2 more clips on the front side that are hard to get into place as well as release. when they are in place that top will NOT move.
