I'm not sure that would do much good unless it transfers weight to the front axles like torsion bars on a camper with a hitch and ball set up.

They may still have to worry about the extra rear end weight and tire capacity. Either way, the proposition will likely cost them money to abate possible significant trouble and that's still no guarantee of complete success. Sometimes you have to roll the dice.
