Items to check on a new 2020 Compass TW
Hello all,
First post here and I am still digesting the Gemini/Compass thread.
Picking up a new 2020 Compass TW with 1,400 miles on it (dealer said delievery from factory) and had a few questions to ask before pickup.
Is it normal to have that many miles on a new RV?
Noticed a check engine icon on the dash when test driving, I have a question about this in with the dealer.
Forgot to add that the Ford factory ac unit was have difficulty cooling when we did the test drive. Understand that the outside temp was 100 deg, but my 2002 chevy' ac measured from the center vent is in the middle 40'. Is that normal?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks!
Appreciate Coveman2' advise on what to look over (and others)
Oil and filter change (most chassis are one year old)
Test all batteries and if weak have them replaced.
Full tank of fuel.
Full clean up of sawdust behind and in drawers
Starter kit ( water hose, sewer hose, some chemicals for tanks, water regulator)
Make sure you have them show you how to access the water pump and pump strainer to clean it out the first two or three times you use the fresh water tank or better yet have them check the strainer ( it gets full of plastic bits from when they drilled the holes for the pipes)
Check fuse box for any blown fuses
Make sure you know how the 3 way fridge works if your model has one.
Make sure you get the Thor bag with most of the manuals (They are all available on the Thor website when you put in your VIN number and register)
How to winterize (have had boats with vacuflush and water in the past)
RV has aluminum wheels, wanted to know if they are coated or not (for coating with Sharkhide wheel coating)
Roof need a protective coating added
update; do the seams need EternaBond installed when new?
Also I saw a nice external propane grill in the demo video, anyone know what brand/model?
