The DW caught "first fish" before I could get my line rigged. See attachment. We caught plenty...they were swimming at 3:30 and cooking at 5:30!

All kinds of stuff, pool, a catch and release stocked pond and friendly people. Most of the park is closed for the season...just a fraction of the sites are set up for winter rentals.

docmike,
I've been hoping to get up to the mountains some day, looking for a nice mountain park, maybe with sites on a creek like this. On google map, a lot of this park seems flat an open and not so "mountainy"
BUT
do the sites on the side farther from the road also back up to a creek? You wrote that the creek splits around but i can't quite tell on google map. Looks like a few back up to a wooded hill. That might be perfect for what I'm looking for.... I'd love a site right on a small creek that the kids could play in, as well as a mountain to climb in the woods.
Do you think this place might be the place I'm looking for?
