No clue why it would quit. As for DOT bottles/cylinders, only the 4 to 40 lbs require an overfill preventive device. ASME tanks are specifically exempted from periodic inspections or pressure test when installed in recreational vehicles unless the propane is used to power the vehicle. New ASME tanks are sold with OPD as some states (New Hampshire) require that they be installed; however. there is no DOT regulation requiring an OPD in an ASME vapor tank.
