One reason I choose 24v system is :
12v charge Victron controller (for 1,200w) charge controller and Victron
inverter/charge (3,000w) is about $1,000(with taxes) more expensive than 24v 's counterpart, not to mention the extra cost on wires etc.

While 24v to 12v converter is only one bucks.
