The very same issues apply to home use antennas. I live on the west coast of Florida. The above unit from Antennas Direct has worked out very well for me at home as it receives 60 or 70 over the air stations. The reason I mention it here is that it is considerably less bulky than the massive long reach antenna style that has been around forever. I also prefer it because birds don't care to roost on it and therefor don't leave their "blessings" all over my house. If a RV camper somehow mounted this high in the air (such as with a trailer hitch flag mount) I believe it would do a great job of pulling in stations and still be reasonable to store away in a compartment. I was at a campground and there was a bunch of big trees in line with the towers and reception was terrible. It really hurts having obstacles in the way, I even put up one of those home antennas with an amplifier, still bad reception 20 miles away.
