I declined the extended warranty offered by the Finance Mgr. Even the sales rep said it was a waste of money. In nearly a year, my few repairs have been small ones that were covered by the basic warranty.
I believe the Roadside Assistance is essential. I bought Good Sam, but there are others that may be as good or better.
