Welcome on board Ted.
I too got my first MH a month ago but we have being traveling all over this country with a travel trailer since 2016.
My piece of advice is:
1 - Get to know and understand how things works and what is the proper way to operate them.
2 - Keep "looking for trouble" - this is a moving/shaking "thing" so even when they are right at first they can become loose, etc.
3 - Establish a good relationship with a good dealer.
In 4 years and 28000 miles we never got stranded on the road and I credit the above for that.
Point 3 is crucial, just an example, after I bought this MH the dealer identified 42 items that needed to be fixed, several them simple but yet, those where items I didn't have to work on....
