In line LP gauge

In my Class B the gauge in the LP tank is half way under the rig and impossible to view. I have had trouble several times in getting the tank filled much past 50% - I guess because of the small size. The last time I used it for two weeks (running the furnace at night) (inside gauge read 1/4) and the guy filling the tank put in less than two gallons and said it was full. The inside gauge (unreliable at best) then read 1/2.

My question - is there any problem with using an in line LP gauge attached to the tank and having it filled through the gauge. That way, the person filling it (and me) would have a better idea if the tank was really filled. I would have to attach and remove the gauge every time I filled the tank, but that is not much of an issue.
