Since hitch is rated for 5,000#s, I assume the 18,000 is with a normal full load? i.e. tanks full, luggage, people etc. My point earlier was no matter how much I wish to load (short pure gold) I will never get close to the GCWR of 23,000. So that is why I question why weigh before each trip? I am not towing anything.

My RV is 30' 3" long, 12' 2" tall & 8' 5.5" wide. Wheelbase 190"
But here is my favorite measurement. I have 145 cu ft of storage. We never come close to using it all
Your RV fully loaded cannot exceed the 18000 GVWR. You can then tow 5000 lbs. Most gas coaches have a low OCCC and overweight is quite possible. I learned that lesson with the Challenger. With that coach we couldn’t load up for more than a week or 10 days.

Run across a scale and you might be surprised at what you actually weight.
