How about a Subaru? Almost an SUV.
I haven’t looked at toads much because I prefer small motorhomes, but think AWD Subaru with manual transmissions may be flat towable and have a little more ground clearance than most cars. It may be worth researching. Again, not sure of their capabilities, but know they are not that heavy for their size.
