I wish the 30 amp plug on my portable generator allowed for threaded screw lock versus only relying on the twist lock. As it is; it sags with the weight of the 30 amp cord. Besides I wish my connection to be nuclear survivable in the event aliens attack us and we have to use nuclear warheads.

I have question for those that have had RV connection both ways, hardwired and with threaded twist lock connection. Which do you prefer to have?

My RV is hardwired direct to ATS. It is 50amp cord and about 30 feet long. I find myself having to do below steps and it seems inefficient; maybe I am doing it wrong?

1. Open Electrical bay compartment
2. Pull the full 30' shore power cord out and lay it out so it is no longer rolled up
3. Unsrew cap on the floor of electrical bay
4. Take the male plug from shore cord and feed it through hole on the floor
5. Pull Shore cord through hole in the floor all the way out and then connect to power panel
6. Stuff around cord where it comes in the floor with material that allows it to seal. (so no pest could crawl up short cord to get inside the bay)
7. Close and lock hatch door
