Not sure I see that, however. Yeah the torque handling would be there but not the configuration nor the weight carrying capacity (Mach-E's cargo carrying capacity is like 700lbs or so).

Yes, the E-Transit has a “targeted” drive motor rating of 266 HP and 317 lb-ft of torque, which matches the standard Mustang Mach-E. It would appear Ford is planning on using the same motor on standard Mach-E and E-Transit. That part makes sense.

However, suspension is a different matter altogether. The Mach-E is listed as a multi-link (like Expedition and Explorer), and the E-Transit is listed as semi trailing arm, and rated at a targeted 6,000 pounds of capacity. Obviously, they may share the drive motor, but not the suspension.

It’s interesting that Car and Driver shows the Mach-E as having a 9.05 final drive ratio, and since the E-Transit will be much heavier and with a much lower required top speed than the Mustang, the final drive on Transit will probably be geared even lower than 9.05. Those electric motors do spin well over 10,000 RPM.
