Why not just plug into an EMS out at the pedestal?
The last external one I had got water inside during a rain storm and was inoperative, plus they are easily stolen. Hard wired ones are more secure and protected from the weather. I use an external one in the storage room for the RV, but I already have one to wire in for when I'm on the road.
