When we stayed at Northland CG it turned out to be just what we hoped for. It’s smallish, rural, quiet, clean and for us, friendly. We were traveling US-2 across country and normally stayed at a central location for 10 days to two weeks. This CG allowed us to make side trips to Superior, WI and Duluth, MI. Our most rewarding side trip was taking a couple of days and making it all the way around the WI-13 highway loop. We even spent a night at the Legendary Waters Resort & Casino out at Red Bluff. WI-13 is a very scenic ride and were we to do it again we would book into the Buffalo Bay CG at Red Bluff.
NOTE: We have traveled all of the northern states from Maine to Oregon. Almost all rural CGs have fire rings. However, hardly any of them allow the use of firewood other than what they have on hand. Actually, in some states, it’s against the law for them to allow any use of firewood from some other state. Diseases is what they are trying to avoid.
From time to time you'll see we have our "bat" ant. extended. That's because Dish did not have permission to use ABC. Almost all local transmitters have ABC and normally quiet clear reception.
