I bought the Rampside in 1985 and have put just over 160,000 miles on it. It was my daily transportation when I taught high school 34 miles from home. I have never had a rear wheel bearing failure, but I have spun an axle several times. I do carry a good a spare axle and yoke along with a yoke puller. It sits behind the seat with my pickup tool box. I do pull the axles about every 50,000 miles to clean and grease the bearings. I also have a one owner 1965 Corsa 316,000 miles) which has had 5 rear hubs replaced due to water in the bearings. I prefer to tow the Rampside as it is air conditioned with a gas heater, although I have towed the Corsa to conventions and shows.
By the way Beau is the name of our 1968 UltraVan with a build number of 388. Beau was our first class A coach.
