All Ford specs I’ve seen say otherwise. Where are you getting this information about frame rail thickness as used on Axis/Vegas? Cutaway are specified differently but don’t apply to Axis/Vegas.

Only difference I see in detailed specs is that E-450 has beefier rear axle (9,600 vs 8,500 pounds) and also heavier springs, which add a little over 100 pounds in extra weight. Therefore, net gain in rear axle load capacity is just under 1,000 pounds. Front end are the same on specifications; both 5,000-pound rated.

Besides, most people seem most concerned about tire capacity, and they are same size and load rating.
