Doesn't look like you ever got an answer. Yes, is the answer. On mine I'm 26.5" to center of 2 1/2" receiver on the Motorhome, to 17.5 on my Jeep. My tow bar is 2" shank. So I got a drop/up hitch to give me an 8" drop in my case. Several companies make them. I made the mistake of ordering my tow bar in 2 1/2" shank, problem was they don't have a 2 1/2" drop to 2 1/2" but do have them in 2 1/2" drop to 2" so I had to have my shank changed to a 2", no harm done it works great. They also make a 10" drop. BlueOx has them among others.
I paid 120 for mine online, and at the dealer it was 237!!

Don't pay attention to my safety cables, they are just laying on the hitch for a quick picture, I have shackles I install and hook into those.
