The stock Ford shocks provide the best ride.
Unless you go to custom valve shocks, any aftermarket shock will give you a harsher ride.
It's their nature. You can't tame the suspension by inducing mild valving/mild ride. Shocks act quickly slowly mushy or stiff.
Quick and stiff suppresses body stuff and are harsh. Slow and mushy give good ride.

I have probably the most extensive suspension changes on this forum.
I run stock Ford shocks in the rear and custom valved shocks in the front that mimic stock Ford shocks(because my shock Mounts were changed and stock E450 shocks now do not fit.)
