You'll get no improvement.
Mine are valved to match an axle change in the front which required custom length(my whole front suspension assembly is now closer to a f750 with rotor adapters to use 16"wheels). The valving is made to be as close to the stock Ford as possible while allowing for the extra length I needed and with mounting points to match the new front shock Mounts.
In other vehicles I have, the custom valving was to allow custom springs to work as they should.

If you are truly interested in the best that can be done, contact
Deevers spring
In Santa Ana California and tell them you want custom springs made.
Then they'll valve shocks to fit the springs.


You can stiffen the ride with bilstein shocks.
'Better' is a seat-of-the-pants unmeasureable thing.
