This town and all the others around the lake belong to a modern day economic disaster. What is left is mostly "ghost towns". We drove the perimeter roads all the way around the Salton Sea. The only thing that changed from stop to stop was the stink. The wind direction had a lot to do with that.
The Salton Sea is about 360' below sea level. The whole area is hot, dry and
stinky.
