If it wasn’t always that way it does seem like it’s worth investigating. Hopefully you can access it without destroying the flooring. Usually though soft floors come from ongoing water intrusion and I hope that is not your case. Water is funny stuff and if you’ve got some it could be coming in around a slide, a side window or even from the roof. Good luck.
