Unfortunately waiting until spring may cost you. Had the battery been replaced when it did not hold a charge it may have been done under warranty. Now that the battery is broken (and it sounds like the case is broke) that is generally a sign of neglect (excessive discharge and freezing) or misuse (improper mounting) and will void any warranty.
If Camping World put "wait until spring" in writing on the battery warranty issue you may be able to get them to cover the cost of replacement. My guess is they did not commit to putting it in writing and if you talk to them they will not remember any such conversation but will be more than happy to sell you a replacement battery.
