Agree it’s not 100% black and white.

As example, I can detect a musty odor from mold and mildew on most older motorhomes and trailers with slides (at least those for sale at PPL). Because I’m sensitive to mold, I won’t consider a motorhome with a slide. It’s too much of a risk for me.

People are different though. My wife, sister and brother-in-law couldn’t tell there was a problem with a trailer I couldn’t even enter. Shortly after it was scrapped due to water damage. Repairs exceeded its value.

I assume a lot may also depend on where the motorhome will be kept most of the time. If in a dry climate, it may not be as bad a problem as along the Gulf Coast or in Florida. Once you get mold in a humid area, it’s hard to get rid of it.
