Cannot adjust pitch on powered awning

Today I was cleaning my awning, and decided to lower the pitch to as to make cleaning easier. One side lowered fine, I just pressed the button, and slid the arm to the lowest point, on the other side, I pressed the button, and the button went all the way in, and fell somewhere inside the awning arm. When I try to lower that side now, it gets to a certain point and jams/feels like it is hitting an obstruction. Any idea how to take the arm apart to remove the button?

Here is a pretty bad pic , but hopefully you can see where the button should be.
