We use T-mobile Hot Spot but not on our phones, it is a Sim Card in a dedicated Wi-Fi Router and have 2 smart TVs, our Laptop and 2 phones connected to the Router and it works well in MOST of the USA, but not everywhere, don't expect good service at the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone or Glacier NPs and some of those way out of the way areas.
We purchased an IBR900 Router through Amazon, with a built in modem, the same kind used in many Fire Departments, then went to T-Mobile and purchased our Mobile Hot Spot Sim Card, 100 GB of data per month for $55 on the Military Plan. AT&T has something very similar. There are a couple of other companies who set these thing up for you if you are not sure if you want to keep the plan, Nomad Wireless and Bix Wireless are 2 but they are not cheap either.
Just an FYI.
