In my experience I have seen leaks like this one and it reminded ME of times the fitting had cracked. From over tightening or inferior casting, an improbable leak would develop. Then you try to tighten it and cause more damage. As the OP has just filled the tank......
The fittings in question has tapered threads and should NOT leak.
