DO NOT add freon unless you are sure it is low. The a/c pro fill kit has a cheap gauge that will tell you if it needs juice. Unfortunately most inexperienced jamokes hook up the bottle, don't believe what the gauge is telling them and pull the trigger and overcharge the system. If it is low on freon then putting a blast of juice into the system is only a band aid anyway. The source of the leak needs to be located and repairs made before the system is evacuated and recharged.
It could be a bad a thermistor. Or a low pressure cut off switch is going bad. Either of these does not require breaking the system open to repair.
