If you have never done this before and your vision is to visit the national parks and rural America, think about the tow. We have been traveling the US, Canada and Alaska for the past 10 years in three different RVs, staying out 2-4 months at a time and never towed a car. We have had 20' Class B, 22' Class C and two 25' Class A (Vegas/Axis). While there certainly have been times when we wished we had a vehicle with us, they actually have been few and far between and if we really needed one we rented it. Figure the cost of purchase and extra gas and you can rent a lot of vehicles. In addition, to us RVing is fun because it is simple. We generally can fit into most restaurant parking lots with our 25'er. If we had a tow it would be a lot more difficult. I believe strongly in the "KISS" principal. Just something else to think about.
