Capacity varies depending on driving demands. Sound like your pump is not working. Have you gone through your fuse/breaker boxes to see if one has tripped/blown. That pumping action is totally automatic. If you have generator running while driving, it would just pump a little more often to keep front tank full. Again...my guess is pump issues.
