Depends on the surface. If it paint - then car products; if it gel-coated fiberglass - then boat products. Gel-coat is generally harder and thicker thus requires a more abrasive polish. Small scratches usually do not show up in gel-coat, while swirl scratches in darker colors of automotive paint require a very fine abrasive.
