These drip cups are the culprit for sure. Mine are made of rubber and have torn over time opening up the water to be introduced at the point of the floor where the linoleum ends. This resulted in damage to the subfloor. These posts have helped me to determine the real problem and it is definitely the drip cups. I plan to replace all 4 of them proactively.
