I have two outside outlets and when I plug my coffee machine and griddle into these outlets it will trip...although not immediately.

My GFCI is in the bathroom and yes it seems to control a number of outlets that must be "downstream". I had to reset the GFCI at the bathroom outlet and it solved the problem.
