Our awning lights were sewn into the awning and began to pull away from awning creating tears which allowed water to come threw the tears. We took the awning lights off the awning (they just pulled right off) and replaced with multi-colored lights (cost $20 at Walmart) that are attached to the motorhome (with tape). We then got upon the roof and taped the awning all the way across and no more leaks. The new lights have a remote which allows for many different colors and modes. Hope this helps.
