Interesting…on my coach:
The rivets were for a metal/aluminum black strip from top to bottom that I did not touch.
The actual rubber seal was fastened with 3M double foam tape and a couple of screws (top and bottom), attached to the metal/aluminum strip.
IIRC, the rubber I purchased from Amazon was a bit too wide. So I had to cut a thin strip off (3/8-1/2”) from top to bottom prior to install.
But it works great, looks OEM
