Been following this thread and then this past weekend our leveler motor FAILED! Got the nerve up and removed it today... then got more nerve to take it apart after confirming no continuity across the two terminals.
I found mine full of oil(?), I assume oil leaking in from the hydraulic pump... it was thick and black (from the arcing and carbon?) and sludgy in places. So I washed all the parts, and saw the brushes were surprisingly good, maybe half-life left? Tomorrow I will take it to the storage and put it back together for the real test. :-)

My question is the link you provided above shows a set of brushes and neither have the ring terminals. Do you think the studs now shown are the proper size and two to one set?
Also Lippert has a new 'sealed coupling' for the motor... I wonder if it will fit my motor/setup (motor #414850). Will need to make a couple of calls tomorrow.
