There are no moving parts, but since you are a newbie; you can at least brace in the event it starts.

In the event it does not start but tries to turn over; do not hold that start button longer than 25 seconds or so. Let it rest and try a gain a minute or two later.

While you are there; check the oil. The Yellow cap in the same picture.

Good luck
Hold the start switch in the off position for 20 seconds to prime the generator and then push start.
