The problem with the 5th wheel is I would need to buy a tow vehicle in addition to the 5th wheel and the issue with the class a is if we want to spend a couple of days at a location getting out and about would necessitate renting a car, buying a small car or walking.
I guess what we are really looking at is selling off the house and the excess stuff we have collected over the years and going full time in the RV, we aren't totally convinced that we are ready for that yet.
Whatever we are going to do will not happen for a year or two i have auto lease that I need to get rid of before we do anything.
There are a number of RV campgrounds around where we live here in Granbury Tx and we have been taking day trips looking at what types others have.
Of course we live real close to Alvarado TX where MHSRV is located and will probably be visiting may times until we settle on what we want.
I hope to learn a great deal from what others on this forum have to say.
Thanks,
JD

HI ! We are on our 4th RV and hopefully, our last. We began about 15 yrs ago with a 21' Class B, moved up to a 25' B+, then a toyhauler and, in January purchased our 2016 Axis 24.1 . We have always stayed, relatively, short in length, for maneuverability purposes..with the purchase of the toyhauler, we got out of our comfort zone..truck plus 30' toyhauler meant not being able to park wherever we wanted. We loved the trailer, but returned to the motorhome.
One thing we learned along the way is sleeping accomodations are very important..cornerbeds, hideabeds, front end beds .. now we have twin beds in the rear of the coach, which can be converted to a King if we choose to do so. Make sure the slides make convenient room for you. Large bathrooms are important for some, others do not require so much space.
You will find so many options...pay close attention to quality control, comfort of seats, couches and beds. Get as much storage space as you can. Newer rv's have very little carpet...there is a reason for that ! You can always throw down an area rug, which can be easily cleaned when it gets dirty.
Have FUN on your search and know that every member of this Forum will be happy to answer any question you might have.
