Wow. That doesn't look like a good setup. I would first try contacting the dealership and then ford to try to get it fixed under warranty. If that fails then I would follow Lloyds suggestion above. If this is a common issue then it may be something to get nhtsa involved in so that if enough people have the same issue, a recall or tech update bulletin or whatever can be issued.
