I also have a 2016 Hurricane 35C and the hitch broke while traveling on I 87 in New York.
The welds broke where the hitch mounts to the frame, all at once, with no evidence of previous cracking.

I notified the NHTSA of the situation.

It is a serious defect that should be remedied.
