Now, try to do that on a 2018 Axis where the "hood" lifts UP and blocks access to the area over the radiator. Brutal.



But then I removed the silly lift mechanism, and, VOILA!


It took a little fenagling but I mounted two pins in the bottom of the cover that drop into two plates on the lower "lip" sort of thing.





I canabalized a stainless door hinge to create a purchase for the existing hood latches, left and right.



Access for my Axis is much improved and changing the air filter or checking tranny fluid or fuses or anything is easier.
