I'm a big fan of readily available metal. These are Simpson mending plates, maybe 4"x4", and the needed offset was vice bent. The pins in the photo were 1/4x20 x~2" galv. but have been replaced with 1/2" hood pins from Amazon. I wanted stainless but they are chromed. The bullet tip is easy to locate than the threaded bolts were.
